I use my ipad to view pdf files from clients instead of printing them out and wasting paper. The stand securly holds my ipad next to my computer so I can eaily view and comment on pdf files while I work on drawings. The stand is well built and looks great. I agree that the grapple should be a standard feature, not an accessory. I didn't purchase one, but easily made my own.

We wanted a stand that would look stylish and be stable for our ipad point of sale system.
Together with the grapple it is the perfect stand

This stand is very sturdy and holds your tablet at the perfect height and angle. It will not slide on your desk or counter top while being used. The touch screen can be used on the tablet for typing and the stand will hold the position and angle set by you. This was purchased for an iPad but it works with all the tablets in our home. Easily the best designed stand available today. If there is one negative, it is not designed to be portable although it can easily be moved about your house or office.

Great weight. With the Grapple added to the top (which in my opinion should be a standard piece not an accessory) the iPad is firmly secured. The ability to pivot it a nice touch. It seems to loosen very easily, but is also easy to tighten up.
Overall, a great product that I'm sure with future enhancements will be made even better.

Nice to have a sturdy platform to hold the iPad at the right angle and the iPad stays in place while typing or pushing the unlock button on the edge when horizontal. Works well next to my PC monitor at work. Excellent product so far

I purchased this stand to hold my iPad while I eat my morning breakfast. I don't like laying the iPad on the kitchen table, even with the smartcover as it isn't at the right angle and leaves it vulnerable to spills.
I got the stand in black and it has a rough textured finish. Its heavy and inspires confidence that it won't move. This model has a ball bearing that let's you adjust the angle, which is useful for up and down, but I don't see the benefit of right to left as you could just turn the stand. Unlike the iPod holders that they sell, the stabile pro does not curl around and grip the iPad, it's more like an easel. As such, you can leave your smartcover on and just flip it back over the top. It will also likely be the last tablet stand you'll ever need, as it should work with just about any tablet.
There are non slip feet on the bottom, as well as rubberized areas where your iPad makes contact as to not scratch it. You can set the iPad in either portrait or landscape.
What's not to like? Not much. I wish it came in gloss black like the iPod holders, but textured black looks nice too. When putting the iPad in landscape mode, the bottom right "foot" can hit the volume rocker on the iPad 2, so i generally put the rocker on the top, but that means i take off the smart cover since the magnetic side is down. Perhaps on next version leaving a space or making it more of a claw foot that goes around the volume rocker? Some will say it's a tad pricey, but tablets arent going away any time soon, and you'll likely have this thing forever. Short of running it over with your car, it's near indestructible. I purchased it having owned other thoughtout products, knowing I was paying a slight premium for a superbly built product. I doubt there is a better looking, better built, or better functioning stand out there anywhere...
